Welcome to BUMP!

BUMP is dedicated to providing Boston youth a rich educational experience in the music and culture of the African Diaspora. The musical traditions that spread from Africa have unified people, transformed culture and generated trillions of dollars throughout the world. These musical traditions carry the history, the values, the ways of being and the deep cultural meanings of resilient and determined people. Youth who develop a strong cultural identity become resilient high achievers because they engage their whole selves in the learning process.
