• To develop awareness and appreciation
of African Diasporic music and
musical cultures;
• To provide vocal and instrumental
music lessons, ensembles, music history
and theory classes, and assetbased
mentoring;
• To organize performances, concerts
and apprenticeships;
• To supply musical instruments, a
multi-media music library and musical
consulting services;
• To conduct music research and disseminate
the results in the form of
music curricula and other publications;
• To collaborate with and enhance
other community organizations with
complementary goals and programming;
• To increase public awareness, understanding
of, and access to all of the
foregoing.
